China Navigation Company, which are registered in

Great Britain. The China Navigation Company have as

a matter of fact made grants at their own charge in

the case of officers and engineers in their service killed

by pirates.

The statement that the piracy regulations

had been abolished in accordance with shipowners wish

is correct, but it is incorrect that shipowners wished

for the abolition "so as to leave them a free hand to

take their own measures". The position is as stated
